Confectionary prowess and cutting-edge creativity converge at The Poppery, a Westchester shop that sells original and customized cake pops.
Cake pops are a relatively new revelation in the dessert realm. They’re essentially sweet and decadent morsels of cake placed atop a handheld stick to resemble a lollipop. Alexa Esposito, owner of The Poppery in Mount Kisco, broke into the business when she was just 23.
“It all started in 2013, cake pops had just slowly started making their debut on Pinterest. I was asked if I could make these things called ‘cake pops.’ I took on the task and made my first batch,” writes Esposito on The Poppery’s website.
Six years later, Esposito has set up shop at 255 N. Bedford Road. Each and every one of her masterfully crafted cake pops are made to look just as great as they taste.
The Poppery’s menu features several varieties of cake pops categorized into “tiers.” From sprinkles and frosting drizzle to fondant, glitter and other edible decorations, no challenge is too big for Esposito. Pops are ordered by the dozen and can even be customized to include specific logos and characters made with fondant or painted by hand.
Cake flavors include staples like chocolate, vanilla and red velvet, as well as more gourmet options like double chocolate chip, cookies and cream, churro, marble and “party mix” (funfetti and chocolate chip).
In addition to cake pops, The Poppery offers sweet treats like chocolate-covered Oreos and pretzels that can also be customized to your exact specifications.
The Poppery continues to earn strong feedback on its Facebook page with a perfect 5/5-star rating. From the taste to the pure artistry, customers can’t help but keep coming back for more.
