
CEDAR PARK, TX — Cedar Park ranked as the second most expensive city to rent in the 8-city Austin metro area, according to a new study.
Researchers at Zumper this week published their latest "Austin Metro Report" highlighting the most/least expensive cities and those with the fastest-growing rents.
The upshot:
- This month, Cedar Park ranked as the 2nd most expensive city to rent in the metro area.
- The price of one-bedroom units grew 1.8 percent to a median of $1,120, while two-bedroom units fell slightly by 0.7 percent to $1,380.
Among the report's other highlights:
The Most Expensive
- Austin was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,240.
- Cedar Park rent grew 1.8% to $1,120 and ranked as the second priciest city.
- Georgetown was third with rent at $1,100.
The Least Expensive
- San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $900.
- Round Rock was the second least expensive with rent at $1,020.
- Kyle ranked as third with rent at $1,040.
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
- Kyle had the fastest growing rent, up 7.2% since this time last year.
- Austin saw rent climb 6.0 percent, making it the second fastest growing.
- Leander and Georgetown were tied for third with rents both climbing 5.8 percent.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
- Georgetown had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.8 percent.
- Cedar Park rent increased 1.8 percent last month, making it the second fastest growing.
