The rules of beauty are simple: Drink loads of water, get 8 hours of sleep, and always consult Hyram Yarbro's YouTube channel before making a major skincare purchase. He's basically the king of judging which products work vs. which to leave on the shelf, and safe to say the internet loves him for it. We decided it was time for his skincare knowledge to face the ultimate experiment, our classic Expensive Taste Test.
We've had some pretty iconic guests come through our testing center (see: Mariah Carey, Tyra Banks, Doja Cat, etc,) and now Hyram is joining the ranks. He tried out both the luxury and drugstore versions of pimple patches, serums, and more to see if he could discern which of the options was pricier.
He's a true guru, so Hyram stayed on the lookout for stuff like texture, scent, and consistency. Basically just all the details that we standard consumers would not notice. Also, I love how today's episode sort of doubles as a skincare industry crash course. Were you aware that luxury brands love to add a specific scent to their items to seem fancier? Because I was not.
