Members of the Altru Alliance, an auxiliary of Altru Health System, are hosting fundraising events Tuesday, Aug. 25, in the Altru Hospital parking lot, 1200 S. Columbia Road, and Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the Altru Professional Center parking lot, 4440 S. Washington St.
Both events run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The group’s “sweetest fundraiser ever” is featuring cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes, a West Fargo-based business.
Patrons can choose from such flavors as chocolate chocolate chip, white chocolate raspberry, red velvet, lemon, classic vanilla, carrot, blueberry bliss, marble, pecan praline and confetti.
The Bundtlet, a miniature Bundt cake which serves two people, sells for $5. A box of 12 Bundtinis sells for $25. Cash and credit and debit cards will be accepted.
This is the first time Nothing Bundt Cakes has participated in an Altru Alliance fundraising project, said Cheri Desmarais, volunteer coordinator at Altru Health System.
Alliance chose this Bundt cake sale project because “it’s something we could do with social distancing” in the parking lots, Desmarais said.
The Altru Alliance raises funds to support a wide variety of initiatives and needs, including patient comfort care items, home-delivered meals, car seats for children with special needs, craft supplies, sensory and speech facilitating toys and nursing scholarships.
The volunteer group, which operates the Altru Hospital gift shop, raised more than $77,000 in 2019.
Membership in the Altru Alliance is open to everyone. Dues are $10 per calendar year. For more information, contact Altru’s Volunteer Services at (701) 780-5125.
