A Loveland Brewery Used to Have an Eight Foot Beer Can Beaver - New Country 99.1

A unique brewery in Loveland is known in Northern Colorado for their great beer and also the beer names that would make any 12-year-old giggle. Big Beaver Brewing Company, located at 2707 West Eisenhower Boulevard has been creating traditional German-style brews since 2010.

As someone who has been to the brewery a couple of times, I can tell you that I really enjoy their Bust-A-Nut Brown Ale and the Dirty Blonde Ale. Since the brewery is essentially beaver-themed, it would only be fitting to have a beaver mascot.

According to Roadside America, Big Beaver Brewing Company has an eight-foot-tall beaver made out of 3,000 beer cans up until 2020.  The beer can beaver's name was Pah Weech, which, Uncompahgre Ute word for beaver, was assembled during the 2017 Riverfest located in Denver. The cans were recovered from the local river and beer cans from Riverfest. The City of Denver said that the sculpture was too much of a danger to be placed in one of the local parks permanently.

Big Beaver Brewing Company adopted the loveable beer can sculpture in 2018. In November 2019, a gust of wind took out Pah Weech when the beaver hit the brewery's outer wall.
