An Italian restaurant in Montclair was robbed of its cooking oil, police said.
On Jan. 5, an employee of Napoli Trattoria and Pizzeria on Park Street reported surveillance cameras to the business captured a blue van pulling up to the rear of the business during off hours and cutting the lock off of the used cooking oil drum.
Individuals from the van then used a hose to extract the oil from the drum, police said. The vehicle was described as a 2006 Ford Econoline Van.
At the time of the report, there was no value of the oil.

Vehicle thefts
Tuesday, Jan. 4 — An officer sent on a parking complaint on The Fairway discovered that a 2019 Jaguar blocking a resident’s driveway was reported stolen out of Lake Syracuse, New York. The vehicle was impounded and returned to the owner.
Sunday, Jan. 9 — A man reported that he parked his 2017 Mercedes CLS 63 in a Columbus Avenue driveway. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked with the key fob inside. When he returned to the car approximately 40 minutes later, he discovered it gone. The vehicle contained the victim’s wallet and a set of golf clubs.
Burglary
Monday, Jan. 10 — Officers responded to Cadoo Medical on Park Street on a report of a burglary. An employee reported getting an alert on her ring camera of motion in the building. Upon checking the footage, she observed an unknown person walking through the office. The person was described as a tall male with a thin build wearing a New York Mets flat-brimmed baseball cap, a dark mask over his nose and mouth, a light-colored, tie-dyed hooded sweatshirt, light-colored pants and black and white sneakers. At the time of the report, nothing was reported missing.
Driving while intoxicated
Friday, Jan. 7 — A 44-year-old woman from Montclair was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Mount Vernon Road.
