I'm getting married in 12 days and everything except the cake is an absolute mess - Daily Mail

I'm getting married in 12 days and everything except the cake is an absolute mess (including my groom) - what do I do?

  • Bride reveals disastrous DIY wedding
  • Her in laws want to supply bottled soft drink
  • This means guests will receive just over a cup each

A bride-to-be is terrified her wedding will be a disaster after realising she has just 12 days until she walks down the aisle and 'the only thing paid off is the cake'.

She went on to explain the bridal party are completely disorganised, with two of her bridesmaids still undecided on their outfits.

The situation on the groom's side is even more dire, as none of the men have their suits for the big day.

There has also been a huge fight over their DIY catering.

'His family want to buy 17x two-litre bottles for the reception, but I want cans,' the worried bride said.

This equates to about 355mL of drink - less than a cup and a half.

'Send help, I am breaking out in acne everywhere,' she said.

Her desperate plea appeared to make other people break out too.

'Did they think someone else would plan the wedding?? How do you get to that point and have nothing but cake?' one person asked.

'This is bad enough and then she mentions 100 GUESTS! DIYing food for 100 people with nothing planned 12 days out. I too am breaking out just thinking about it.' another added.

'It may be time to start praying for a natural disaster since that's more likely to happen than this wedding being a success,' a third laughed.

Others couldn't get over the two-litre soft drink option and said weddings without enough beverages are awful.

'Aside from the fact that serving liters is way less convenient than cans do they really like that splitting a liter six ways and having that be the only beverage is sufficient liquid?' one woman asked.

'Like I know weddings are expensive but you need to provide beverages for your guests. You don’t have to have an open bar, you don’t have to have every beverage under the sun but people need something to sip.'

'Her in laws are so psyched for the wedding they are forking out for cheap soda,' another person said, laughing,

The woman said the cake is sorted - but nothing else has been paid for
She also complained her in laws want to serve soft drink at the reception - but are trying to get her to agree on bottles over cans

And they weren't the only ones having a giggle over the disastrous wedding planning.

'The mental image of all the guests pouring themselves drinks from two litres is sending me,' one laughed.

One woman suggested the bride 'give up on everything, including the husband'.

'He doesn't want to get married. I think you and your friends who actually bothered to get a dress need to take the cake and eat it, after dumping him, his family and the wedding.'

Some were anxious for the guests.

'I feel bad for the 100 people who think they are going to a wedding but will actually turn up to a s**t show,' one woman said.

'I hope they don't spend too much money on gifts, or getting to the wedding because at this point it isn't happening,' said another.
