Costco customer in stitches after 'simple' custom cake order taken too literally - Daily Record

A customer who ordered a personalised Costco cake was left in stitches after the baker took their instructions a little too literally.

The shopper requested half a sheet cake filled with vanilla cheesecake mousse to serve 48 people. They asked for the appearance to be kept pretty simple with 'no writing' and 'no designs', the Daily Star reports.

The customer's only ask was for 'red frosting on the perimeter for top/bottom' and to illustrate how they would like their icing to look, they drew a small diagram to make things even clearer.

Despite their best efforts to explain the request, the customer's order still got lost in translation after the baker literally gave them exactly what they asked for.

Instead of receiving the red piping round the edges, they were handed a plain white cake with their diagram iced on top. However, the light-hearted customer seemed to see the funny side of things as the epic fail was posted onto Reddit much to the amusement of others.

One user replied: “Costco will give you exactly what you know you didn’t need.” The post racked in over 109k upvotes and many were left in fits of laughter over the sweet treat blunder.

Another entertained person said: “I laughed so hard I nearly woke up my baby.” Somebody else wrote: “That’s amazing. I would not be upset.”
