'I'm trying to ignore it!' Alison Hammond surprises unamused Harrison Ford with a cake for his 80th birthday in 'train crash' interview
Alison famously left viewers in hysterics back in 2017 when she interviewed Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling about Blade Runner: 2049, admitting she hadn't seen the original film before downing whisky with the pair.
And five years on, Alison Hammond, 47, surprised an unamused Harrison Ford with an Indiana Jones themed cake for his 80th birthday, in what viewers branded a 'train crash' interview.
The TV host's gift for the the Hollywood legend didn't get the intended response when they were reunited on Monday's episode of This Morning, with Harrison swiftly, and awkwardly, brushing off the gesture.
While Harrison was in Las Vegas, Alison interviewed him over video link from her home in Birmingham.
She told him: 'This year saw you turn 80 and I'm so so sorry, I missed your birthday. I'm sorry I didn't send you a present. I do apologise.
'However, don't worry, I did get you a cake. Check this out. I whipped this together. There is a whip on it as well, a scorpion, Harrison, 80. I can't believe you turned 80 this year.'
With Harrison seemingly unamused by the Indiana Jones themed cake, Alison asked how he celebrated his birthday, to which he simply replied: 'I'm trying to ignore it.'
Alison accused the actor of leading her 'astray' in their now viral, first interview telling him: 'Now last time we met, well frankly, we should be ashamed of ourselves…There was Ryan Gosling. We were drinking a lot of whiskey.'
Harrison protested: 'That was not me. You started it! I remember very well. I remember! But it's not going to happen again' to which Alison joked: 'I did start it… but you finished it.'
Reminiscing about their previous encounter further, Alison commented: 'We've got to talk about the fact that last time I interviewed you, it was with Ryan Gosling.
'And he wouldn't stop going on about the fact that you punched him in the face... He's a bit of a cry baby as far as I'm concerned!' to which Harrison agreed: 'Yeah!'
Discussing his new film, 1923, Harrison said of working with co-star Dame Helen Mirren: 'Helen and I played husband and wife 40 years ago in the Mosquito Coast.
'We both have enjoyed both scenes in which our married life is featured and you see in the first episode, how tough she is. Fantastic. She goes for it and it's great fun to work with her.'
On returning to play Indiana Jones for a fifth time, Harrison explained: 'I've always wanted to conclude his story and I've always wanted to see him later in life. I think we have a wonderful story to tell.'
In response to whether he takes more care doing stunts these days, the actor said: 'I don't do stunts. I do physical acting. You know, I'm always trying to be careful.
'There's all kinds of stunts, all kinds of action. There's all kinds of exciting scenes and they're fun to do and I enjoy doing them myself but I think you want to see my face.'
Closing the interview, Alison told Harrison: 'I've missed you, babes,' to which he quietly replied: 'I've missed you too. I look forward to seeing you again soon.'
Viewers took to Twitter to note how awkward the interview was, with one tweeting sarcastically: 'Erm ye that interview was side splitting!! #ThisMorning.'
'#ThisMorning Alison's interview with Harrison Ford is a train crash second time around. He just didn't want to play ball did he? Her fake cackle obviously did his head in,' tweeted someone else.
'Harrison to agent: Who the hell was that woman? #thismorning,' joked another viewer, while someone else wrote: 'Poor Harrison couldn't get a word in #thismorning.'
The first time Alison met Harrison, she kicked off proceedings, by saying: 'Bleak, dystopian, an absolute nightmare to be honest... and that's just my interviewing technique. But let's talk about the movie Blade Runner 2049...'
Clearly amused by the antics, Harrison joked: 'Cheer up, it's a lovely day in London lets keep it that way! Not the intro we were promised...'
As the trio collapsed in fits of giggles, Ryan held up a tumbler which appeared to be filled with whiskey, before Harrison also took a glug.
Asked whether the pair had started drinking, Ryan quipped: 'I feel this is where it's headed,' before the trio once again began laughing.
Attempting to steer the interview back on track, Alison approached Harrison, asking: 'When you got the call to say, 'we're making another Blade Runner and we want you to be in it', what was your reaction?'
But the events had taken a wry turn as he shot back 'So what?'
Taking matters into his own hands, Ryan then tried to take control asking: 'Is this an interview?... Do you guys need help with the cameras?' before jumping up and taking control of one of the machines.
The interview went onto become one of This Morning's most viral moments, and has been viewed more than 15 million times.
