Nothing Bundt Cakes is adding a new cake flavor — but it won’t stick around.
The new lemon blueberry bundt cake arrives in bakery cases Monday, April 15, at Nothing Bundt Cakes locations nationwide, according to the Texas-based dessert chain.
A twist on the fan-favorite lemon bundt, the cake is baked with wild blueberries and topped with a sweet cream cheese frosting. It was tested in select cities last year and received rave reviews, prompting a nationwide rollout, the bake shop said.
“It perfectly embodies the refreshing tastes of spring and takes our fan-favorite Lemon Bundt to a new level to create the perfect way to celebrate the season,” Claire Jessen, vice president of culinary at Nothing Bundt Cakes, said in a news release.
The lemon blueberry cake is available in a personal-size bundtlet, bite-size bundtini, and 8- or 10-inch cake, if you want to share, the release said. Customers can order it in-store and online.
The new dessert joins Nothing Bundt Cakes’ lineup of classic flavors including red velvet, vanilla and chocolate chocolate chip.
In February, the bakery’s chocolate turtle bundt cake briefly make a comeback after it was missing from menus for six years, McClatchy News reported.
Other limited-time flavors have included Reese’s chocolate peanut butter cake and the holiday-themed Andes peppermint chocolate chip cake.
