Miss Daisy's Rum Cake
1 18.25oz package yellow cake mix
1 3oz pkg vanilla instant pudding
4 eggs
1 c vegetable oil
1 c water
2 t rum or rum extract
1 t vanilla extract
Sauce
1 c sugar
1/2 c water
2 t rum or rum extract
1 t vanilla extract
Assemble ingredients and utensils. Generously butter a tube pan. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for cake and beat for 5 minutes. Pour into the prepared pan and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until cake tests done.
For the sauce:
In a saucepan, combine sugar and water and boil for 3 minutes. Add the rum and vanilla extract. Stir well .Pour over cake while still warm .Yield 15 servings.
