MONROE, Wis. (WIFR) -- A fire department helped a little girl have a special birthday this Friday.
The Monroe Fire Department was called to the 100 block of North 20th Avenue for a possible stove fire. Investigators say there was a burnt electrical smell.
Fire crews realized there was a birthday cake in the oven, and it didn’t have time to finish cooking.
That’s when crews decided to take it upon themselves to buy a birthday cake from Dairy Queen and deliver it to the girl. They also sang happy birthday to her.
This made her 4th birthday especially memorable.
