I ordered a cake for my nephew's first birthday but got a VERY rude design instead
An aunt who wanted to treat her nephew to a cute cake for his first birthday received an inappropriate cake instead.
The woman, who uses Twitter under the pseudonym 'sad socialist' shared a picture of the classic cake she had ordered and the one she actually received in a post on the social media platform which has since gone viral.
The cake she had ordered was blue and white and shaped like the number one, adorned with heart-shaped balloons. But instead, the aunt, who spends her time between Sunderland and Liverpool, received a yellow and blue cake with an undefined shape and covered in an icing that was strikingly different to what she had in mind.
To add insult to injury, the baker also misspelled her nephew's name from 'Zayeem to 'Yazeem.'
Foodies were left in stitches by the unfortunate mishap, with some asking how difficult making the correct shape for the balloon could have been.
'Forgot to share what my nephew’s birthday cake was meant to look like vs how it turned up,' the disgruntled aunt wrote as she shared a side-by-side comparison of the two cakes on Twitter.
The classic cake she had hoped to receive was shape like the number one and delicately lined with icing .
Balloons shaped like hearts and made of dressing adorned the top of the baby blue cake.
The cake she received was blue and yellow and the number one was not as well-designed as the model cake.
But the most striking difference was the balloons made of icing, which no one would want to see on a child's cake.
The baker even got the boy's name wrong, which furthered his aunt's annoyance.
While the bakery later corrected the name, they couldn't change the shape of the balloons.
People online were quick to see what the misshapen balloons reminded them of, and shared their tongue-in-cheek jokes online.
'Well, it’s definitely Birthday themed? Maybe a little too much focus on the reproductive bit,' one said.
'How difficult is it to make a heart omg,' another said.
'The balloons... I cant,' one wrote with laugh-crying emojis.
'Forget the heart, how would you spell his name wrong,' another said.
