The steering is quite light compared to the Skoda Yeti but neither is seen as a negative.

Hi Folks,
I've recently bought a used Tucson 4WD variant (2017) with close to 64,000 km. Not taken it out on the highway yet as a few niggles to be addressed in the garage which I'll get to later.
Initial impressions:
- This is my second automatic (earlier was also a Hyundai - i20) and seems to be smooth. The shifts are noticeable when in sports mode but most of the commute is in Eco to keep things in check. The semi-auto shifts are a nice option in the shifter but the vehicle only upshifts after 2K in the RPM range vs my previous manual Yeti.
- The seating and cockpit feel familiar having come from i20 years ago but more modern touches are nice.
- Being a used vehicle, the drivetrain and suspension do seem quite sorted but maybe more will be noticed when I take a longer drive over the weekends. The steering is quite light compared to the Yeti but neither is seen as a negative. Maybe might change my opinion once a longer highway and ghat stint is done.
- No real plans to take this off the tarmac for now (my Yeti is a 4x4 and has gone off the tarmac, into the trails quite a bit) but may look at some hard-packed light trails in the months ahead.
- What's not great (at least till they are sorted) is the braking. The site is quite spongy though I have discs on all 4 corners. Perhaps a cleaning or changing of the pads might help get a more consistent bite.
- I have a squealing noise from the engine bay after being on the road for more than 5 minutes. Likely an idler pulley will need to be sorted as it did have a belt service back in 2020 and the belt tension looks good.
- Hyundai did have a recall for some variants of the Tucson and other models but after talking to their reps, and sharing the VIN, does not seem to apply to the Indian models. If anyone else has had a recall addressed, will be nice to hear about it.
- This like many current Hyundai models has an annoying locking and unlocking honk from a secondary horn. Sadly, the option in the menu to disable that is locked out and at my local garage, the OBD II tool did not get to access that. It did lead to just unplugging that honker and using some electrical tape to protect the plug should it be required in the future.
- There seems to be little to no aftermarket option to install a 360 parking camera and this vehicle needs it. The front and sides have quite a bit of “bulge” and not easy to get close to the curb stones without the risk of scraping something. If anyone has suggestions, will be great to hear them - maybe connect the cameras to the existing head unit or have to install a separate display for that.
- When I removed the engine cover, there is an overflow pipe (if that's the function) and one tab is held in place with a zip tie of all things. There is no leakage but needs addressing still. Typical of what the local jugaad garage culture looks like.
- One option that this model year and variant does not have is a sunroof. That’s something many pointed out and personally, glad it's one less thing to have to worry about. Don't miss having one and don't really see that as a must-have at any price point.
- The previous owner has upsized the tires from 225 to 235s. Not sure if that impacts the ride quality as such but if it adds to the ground clearance, nice to have that given local road conditions.
For now, no plans for mods or changes to the Tucson. Just some needed TLC and see what else comes up given the mileage. The previous service history from Hyundai was clear and up to date till Feb 23’ and aside from constant bodywork (likely a driver-driven vehicle), no real flags and all looks to be done as per the service intervals.
From existing and former owners of the Tucson, any areas I’d need to look up and keep an eye out for?
