Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to have a lemon elderflower wedding cake on Saturday, but Tostitos has a very different idea of a celebratory, um, dessert for the actress who appeared in its 2009 TV ad for corn chips.
It's a six-tiered cake made from more than 72 jars of various Tostitos dips in 42 layers and decorated with chips, tomatoes, hand-piped guacamole “frosting” rosettes and a bride-groom topper fashioned out of queso.
The company is listing simplified instructions online for snackers-turned-royal-watchers who’d like to make a dip cake for their own viewing parties.

"After all, most people in the U.S. will be viewing the festivities early in the morning this weekend, so it’s a little too early for traditional cake," Tostitos said.
Clearly, the snack company hasn't heard of doughnuts.
But Dunkin' Donuts took cake of that. The Royal Love Donut -- heart-shaped, filled with jelly, frosted with chocolate icing and a strawberry drizzle -- is on sale through Sunday.
Plenty of other food companies are offering special foods for the upcoming fairytale nuptials in Britain. Here are five of them:
Velveeta
Shells & Cheese is for commoners. Crowns & Cheese is royal-headgear-shaped pasta packaged alongside regular Shells & Cheese and a gold-plated spoon in a deluxe gold foil box. The first 800 people to register at www.RoyallyTreatYourself.com will win one.
"Cheesy crowns are better than real ones anyway. Who wants to be a princess, when you can indulge in creamy Velveeta Crowns & Cheese and eat like a queen?" the company said.
Burger King
The burger chain is celebrating the union of a famous Brit and a not-as-famous American with a new limited-edition sandwich called the American Royale for sale until May 20 in the U.K.
It's a crispy piece of chicken iceberg and lettuce, plus American-inspired barbecue sauce and two union rings "to signify the royal matrimony." It costs £1.99.
In addition, customers at Burger King restaurants in the U.K. will get free commemorative crowns on the Big Day.
KFC
Even a company with a Yankee-inspired name -- K as in Kentucky -- is getting into the fun.
The chain is giving away 50 limited-edition commemorative chicken buckets, decorated with a bespoke crest, gold flourishes and British and American flags, to diners at its store on Dedworth Road in Windsor, England, on Saturday.
“When we discovered Prince Harry proposed over a roast chicken, we simply had to show our support for the big occasion," said the company, which called the bucket a "priceless piece of British history.”
Finger lickin' royal watchers who can't get to Windsor may register online now to win one of 25 commemorative buckets made from bone china.
Mrs. Fields
Everyone has a big heart when it comes to a wedding, so why not a big cookie?
Mrs. Fields is selling specially-decorated, giant chocolate-chip cookies that say "When Harry Met Meghan," a play on the rom-com movie title When Harry Met Sally. The red, white and blue frosting is also used to create two yummy heart-shaped flags -- the Union Jack and the Stars and Stripes.
The giant cookie is available in 12-inch round or 12-inch heart shapes and costs $29.99 to $39.99. The company said each is the equivalent of 14 cookies and serves 12 people.
Sprinkles Cupcakes
The cupcake chain with 24 locations in eight states is offering its own riff on the royal wedding cake. From Friday through Sunday, it's selling a lemon blueberry cupcake, frosted with St. Germain elderflower vanilla buttercream frosting and topped with a mini edible flower bouquet. It costs $4-$5.25, depending on the store location.
