As mentioned, Meghan and Harry went with the untraditional choice that is lemon and elderflower. Royal wedding cakes are generally fruit-forward, so the floral-y addition was unexpected. Also different was the presentation: Instead of a massive, cleanly-iced monster, the cake — made by Violet Cakes's Claire Ptak — was unstacked and roughly finished, which makes it all the more Pinterest-worthy, tbh.
