Did you know Marks & Spencer sells giant versions of its Colin the Caterpillar cake?
Neither did we – so you can imagine how excited we were when we found out 2kg chocolate caterpillar cakes are an actual thing.
M&S is selling a supersized version of its caterpillar cake.
It’s a giant chocolate sponge roll filled with chocolate buttercream, covered in milk chocolate with a decorated white chocolate face and sugar coated chocolate beans, finished with a personalised leaf decoration.
The cake can also be iced with a message of your choice.
It’s 2280g in weight (incredible, we know), and features no artificial colours, artificial flavourings or preservatives.
The cake, which costs £40 and serves 40 people, isn’t actually new.
The reviews go all the way back to 2012 – and they’re all positive.
One person wrote: ‘Ordered this giant caterpillar cake as a surprise for my daughter’s 16th birthday. We were all thrilled by the size and quality of the cake. The cake itself is huge, long and wide. The chocolate icing, sponge and filling was absolutely delicious and loved by everyone who ate it. Well Done M&S!’
Someone else said: ‘We got this cake for our daughter’s third birthday party. It was a big hit with her and her friends! Easily fed 30 children plus some parents, with some cake left over. Lovely rich chocolately taste. Definitely recommended!’
Another person emphasised how big the cake really is, saying: ‘The cake was tasted amazing and there is only one word to describe the size…..HUGE!’
If you’d like to try the cake, you can buy it here from the M&S website.
