Eighty-seven of the nation’s 125 pricest ZIP codes are in California, including the two most expensive: Atherton, where the median home price is $6,690,000, and Beverly Hills, where it’s $4,084,000, according to report the rental website PropertyClub released on Sept. 8.
In fact, the nation’s 125 most expensive ZIP codes are concentrated in 15 states, the site reported. Eighteen of the communities that made the list have a median sale price of $3,000,000-plus.
The 10 most expensive are in suburbia, according to the report, and only three of the 25 priciest are in an urban setting, in Manhattan.
Following the trend, the four Massachusetts ZIP codes that made the list aren’t in Boston proper:
68. Nantucket — 02554 (median sale price $1,895,000)
82. Wellesley Hills — 02481 ($1,800,000)
101. Edgartown — 02539 ($1,650,000)
125. Weston — 02493 ($1,500,000)
