Dropping cover back in January with a brand-new generation, the 2021 GMC Yukon introduces a long list of updates, changes, and fresh features. Previously, we examined the new Yukon’s starting prices, breaking them down by trim level and drawing comparisons to the previous 2020 model year. Now, we’re going ham on the configurator to create the most expensive 2021 GMC Yukon we can come up with.
2021 GMC Yukon Denali
First things first, we’re selecting the range-topping Denali trim level, which starts at $69,695, including destination. Standard spec on the Denali trim equips the naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8, which makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and mates to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. To note, the optional turbodiesel 3.0L I6 LM2 Duramax engine is currently not available on the configurator, and it’s unclear how much it will cost (if anything) on the 2021 Yukon Denali.
From there, we’re upgrading to 4WD, which bumps the price up to $72,695, including destination. That’s already a decent chunk of money, but here come the options.
First off, Premium paint colors, the most expensive of which is White Frost Tricoat at $1,095. Next, we’re adding in as many packages as we can, including the Denali Premium Package, which is priced at $7,000 and includes the Advanced Technology Package. We’re also adding the Max Trailering Package ($465), the Cargo Convenience Package ($440), and the Illumination Package ($535).
Next up are the exterior options, so we’re adding new 22-inch wheels ($2,995) and Trailer Tire Pressure and Temperature Sensors ($50).
Critically, all of the packages of the packages we selected mean that most of the interior options are already included, but we can still add a Rear Seat Media system ($1,995), a center console lockable storage box ($195), first, second, and third row all-weather floor liners ($295), and a front window shade ($125).
To sum up, the paint was $1,095, the packages were $6,465, and the other options were $5,655. Add it all together, and our 2021 GMC Yukon Denali is priced at $85,910, including destination.
That actually isn’t too bad, but what about the extended-length 2021 GMC Yukon XL?
Once against starting with the Denali trim level and 4WD, we come up with a starting price of $75,890, including destination. We then add the same White Frost Tricoat paint, the same packages, the same exterior options, and the same interior options, and come up with a final price of $88,610, including destination.
