Running back Dalvin Cook is still on his rookie contract, but Kirk Cousins’ recent extension puts the Vikings up there as a team with an expensive offensive trio.

Minnesota ranked No. 8 in terms of the 2020 cap hit for their starting quarterback, running back and No. 1 wideout, according to Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac.com.

Cook’s cap hit is just over $2 million. Adam Thielen, the teams’s wide receiver one, has a 2020 cap hit of just over $12.7 million.

Cousins, however, is a different story. He has a cap hit of $21 million for 2020 alone. I still think it was a good move, considering certain factors such as his production and the quarterback market at the time, but it’s still a big contract for a team to take on.

Cook will reportedly hold out from team-related activities until he receives a deal that is reasonable, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Considering what Thielen and Cousins both get paid, it makes sense in my opinion that Cook would want a bigger contract as his rookie deal expires after the 2020 offseason. Vikings fans will have to see what will happen with Cook.
