We Configure The Most Expensive 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe - GM Authority

The all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe made its grand entrance back in December of 2019, dropping cover alongside the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban in a special media event in Detroit. Offering new styling, fresh underpinnings, and a long list of changes and updates, we got to wondering – what’s the most expensive next-gen Tahoe available? To find out, we headed over to the configurator to spec exactly that.

To begin, we should first mention that we previously compared the latest 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe to the preceding 2020 model year with regard to pricing. Check out that post for a complete breakdown of pricing by trim level for each of the two consecutive model years (2020 to 2021).

With that covered, let’s start configuring. The 2021 Tahoe offers up the High Country as the latest range-topper trim level, so we’ll start there when configuring the most expensive 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. Standard spec for the High Country includes the naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8 engine, which produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and mates to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Starting MSRP for this trim is set at $70,895 including destination.

From there, we add in 4WD, which bumps it up to $73,895. Now, we can start configuring the various options offered on High Country models, including the paint, the most expensive of which is Iridescent Pearl Tricoat at $995.

Next, we add in the packages, with the Premium Package at the top of list at $4,605, adding in things like an Enhanced Cooling Radiator, a Panoramic power sunroof, the Advanced Trailering Package, the Advanced Trailering System, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The Technology Package is also available, but it removes parts of the Premium Package and lowers the price, so let’s leave it out.

Exterior options for the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe include new 22-inch wheels, the most expensive of which are priced at $1,995, as well as Trailer Tire Pressure and Temperature Sensors ($50), Illuminated Black bowtie emblems ($450), and a Highway Safety Kit ($95).

Interior options include a Rear Seat Media System ($1,995), a center console lockable storage box ($195), all-weather floor lines ($295), a front window shade ($135), a vertical cargo net ($70), a retractable cargo shade ($260), and a collapsible cargo area organizer ($145).

Add it all together, and we get $995 for the paint, $4,605 for the packages, and $5,685 for the options, bringing the grand total to $85,180 (including destination) for a fully loaded 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD High Country.

GM’s next-generation full-size SUVs are expected to start shipping this month. Production will take place at the GM assembly facility in Arlington, Texas.
