On Sunday, the star - who was performing in New Jersey - showed off a pink birthday cake which was iced with the words ‘Gomez or Go Home’ and a heart with the number 26 in it.

‘Will I let distance stop me from celebrating my best friend's birthday?’ wrote the singer. ‘I mean, I could but why would I want 2?’

Gomez celebrated her milestone birthday with friends and family at a party, documented by friend and fellow singer Grace VanderWaal on Instagram.

‘Huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY 4 SELENA!!!!!!!!!! Thank for everything,’ VanderWaal wrote. ‘I hope you have the best day bebegurllllllll.’

In snaps taken from the celebrations, the ‘Bad Liar’ singer is wearing a denim jumpsuit and appears to be shocked at friends attending the party.

In one photo, the Texas-born star can be seen opening a box of white frosted cupcakes with ‘Happy Birthday Selena’ spelled in blue.

Gomez has yet to publicly respond to Tay-Tay's 'gift', but we presume that's because she's too busy celebrating her birthday.
