Watch Alabama groom shocked after bride pranks him with LSU cake

If LSU can't win the football games, they might as well try the groom's cake wars.

One Alabama fan had a rude awakening during his wedding reception when he cut his beautifully designed Crimson Tide-themed groom's cake and, much to his chagrin, the cake itself was colored purple and gold.

The culprit? His own bride.

Johnathan Campbell married Bekka Lynn in Louisiana last Friday, and the Bayou Bengal bride would have the last laugh.

Surrounded by guests (many recording video with their phones), the unsuspecting Johnathan began cutting into his white-iced cake with a crimson script 'A', with one fan imploring he not mess up.

"We don't screw up national championships, baby!" the groom said, before he knew the purple and gold truth behind his cake.

The colors soon revealed, Johnathan didn't hear the end of it from Bekka and her fellow LSU friends, as she happily helped him finish slicing the first piece.

The video has since gone viral, with several national news services sharing it everywhere.

"I can't believe it it's gotten this crazy," Johnathan said via phone. "Yesterday it wasn't even public, and then one of our friends said let's make it public and see what happens."

Sure enough, it spread like wildfire, and Johnathan told us his true feeling what's he saw those colors in his cake.

"I felt betrayed," he said. "Nah, I thought it was funny. I joke a lot with my friends. I'm pretty much the only Bama fan in my group. I make fun of them once a year every time we win."

Born in Mississippi, Johnathan was raised in Louisiana but he grew up watching and loving Alabama football. He says he has yet to make it to a Tide game in person. Perhaps after this viral video, he'll make that happen.

Well played, Bekka. You won this battle, and maybe your Tigers will even win on the football field for the first time in seven years.
