Taste of the Ozarks: Conversation Heart Cake Pops - KY3

Here's a last-minute Valentine's Day treat.

Conversation Heart Cake Pops

2 bags whit echocolate chips
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 drops non-water-based food coloring
1 tube red decorators icing
1 Sara Lee pound cake thawed and sliced into 1 inch slices.

Using a heart shaped cookie cutter cut the cake slices into hearts. Place the cake slices on a lined cookie sheet and freeze for 20 minutes. Melt the white chocolate chips with the oil in a double boiler or in the microwave stirring every 30 to 45 seconds. Dip a popsicle stick or candy stick into the melted white chocolate and then insert halfway through the bottom of each heart cake cut out. Put back in the freezer for one minute. Add desired food coloring to melted chocolate and stir to combine. Remove from freezer and coat each heart cake cut out. Coat heart shaped cake melted and colored chocolate. Place back in the freezer until firmly set. About 5 to 10 minutes. Using the red decorator icing right conversation heart phrases on to each heart cake pop.

Recipe makes 10 to 12.
