Costco COST, +0.36% is selling a five-tier wedding cake made entirely of gourmet cheese said to be sourced from around the world.

Light assembly of the ‘cake’ is required.

For $439 ($18.33 per pound), the Cheese Lover Celebration Cake from Sid Wainer & Son includes cow’s milk Red Leicester, a tangy Danish Blue, Murcia al Vino goat cheese, Tuscan Sheep’s Cheese and Brillat Savarin Triple Cream Brie, according to the Costco website. The dairy feast can serve up to 150 guests and is described as “a striking and delicious alternative to a classic centerpiece, cake or cheese board.”

Costco is the latest retailer to show up to the unconventional wedding cake party. Taco Bell debuted a $600 wedding package in 2017 for Crunchwrap Supreme enthusiasts at its Las Vegas restaurant. It comes with a wedding cake made with the chain’s signature Cinnabon dessert.

Some couples decided to go the savory route for dessert with a pizza cake. Domino’s even created a wedding registry for couples who prefer melty cheese pizza to wedding gifts. Others, meanwhile, have opted for sweet alternatives to regular wedding cakes like macaron and donut towers. The latest addition to that roster, Costco’s “cheese cake,” does not come decorated, however, Costco suggests adding simple touches such as flowers, ribbons or edible garnishes.

Light assembly of Costco’s “cake” is required: Consumers can unwrap the cheese wheels and stack them from largest to smallest. Ordering the massive dessert takes a speedy two to three business days to deliver — a faster alternative to traditional wedding cakes, which must be ordered months in advance — and does not ship on weekends, Costco says, due to perishability.

The celebratory cheese tower is priced in the wheelhouse of traditional wedding cakes, which on average cost between $350 and $450 nationwide prices . And some cheese lovers are willing to swap sponge cake and icing for cheese on their big day:
