Memorial mansion auctioned at half price among Houston's 10 most expensive homes sold in Feb. - Chron.com

A sprawling Memorial mansion that sold at auction for half of its original listing price and a mid-century, modern River Oaks home that once served as a parsonage are both among the top 10 most expensive homes sold in Houston in February, according to data from the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR).

The Tuscany-style mansion located at 11010 N. Country Squire St. is the No. 4 most expensive home sold last month. The home was once listed at nearly $7 million and sold in early February for half its original price, for between $3.8 million and $4.4 million. The 11,735-square-foot home offers six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. Inside, interior features include barrel-vaulted ceilings, massive formal dining and living rooms, and several crystal chandeliers. The home also boasts a wine room, game room, 16-seat movie theater, private massage room, resort-style pool with pool-side covered cabana and waterfall rain curtain, fire pit, summer kitchen and outdoor dining area.

The home at 2300 Timber Lane was the No. 5 most expensive home last month and sold for between $3.3 million to $3.8 million. Located in River Oaks, this home has a history after serving as a parsonage for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years, according to the HAR listing. Designed by architect George Smart in 1977, the mid-century modern home was redeveloped and expanded after being sold last year. With 5,733 square feet, the home offers four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, an elevator, wine room, private interior patio, rooftop terrace and summer kitchen.

The most expensive home sold last month is located at 3717 Willowick Road in River Oaks and sold for between $6.8 million and $7.8 million. The 10,332-square-foot home is undergoing renovations, but once completed, it will offer five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two half bathrooms as well as a media room and family room. Interior features include walls of iron and glass windows and open floor plans.

Combined, Houston's top 10 February homes sold totaled $46,618,500‬, data shows.
