CHERRY HILL – Two burned-out businesses have found new homes after a devastating fire at a shopping center here.
Classic Cake said it will operate temporarily from the nearby Short Hills Restaurant & Deli, the bakery announced on its Facebook page Saturday.
The bakery will open at its new home at 8 a.m. Monday, it said.
Also, the Make-Up Bar has moved its salon services to a Voorhees site. The business is sharing space in Rizzieri Salon at 8101 Town Center Boulevard, according to its Facebook page.
“We wish our former neighbors well!” its statement said.
The fast-moving fire on Friday also destroyed a Starbucks, the Pho Huong Viet restaurant, The Hanger boutique, and Camp Bow Wow, a dog-grooming service.
Relocation plans, if any, were not available for those businesses.
The gutted strip center was part of a multi-building retail complex on the 400 block of Evesham Road.
Classic Cake, founded in a South Jersey kitchen in 1982, now makes fresh and frozen products "on a regional, national and international basis," the company's website says.
The firm, which employs more than 75 people, said its wholesale division and a cafe/bakery, both in Philadelphia, 'are continuing to operate as normal."
The bakery has faced tragedy before.
One of its co-founders, Carol Neulander, was slain in a murder-for-hire at her Cherry Hill home in November 1994.
Her husband, Fred Neulander, is serving a life sentence at New Jersey State Prison in Trenton. Neulander, once a prominent rabbi, will not be eligible for parole until June 2030, according to the state Department of Corrections.
The Cherry Hill bakery's temporary home also has been hit by fires. The Short Hills Deli closed for extended periods after blazes in 2008 and 2016.
"We are happy to help a fellow business in their time of need,"said a post at the deli's Facebook page. "We certainly know how it feels to be devastated after a fire! "
Cherry Hill's Fire Department has not announced how or where Friday's fire started.
The blaze, which sent orange flames and black smoke billowing into the sky, was reported around 10:50 a.m. and was brought under control about an hour later, according to Fire Chief Chris Callan.
