CNY’S MOST EXPENSIVE HOME SALES IN 2020: The pandemic caused an unusually hot seller’s market in the Syracuse area in 2020. Fewer houses went up for sale, but buyers still took advantage of historically low interest rates to snatch them up at high prices. See which CNY school districts are fully remote: More than half of Central New York public school districts – 35 of 64 districts – have stayed fully remote coming off the holiday break, according to a survey by Syracuse.com and The Post-Standard. In Onondaga County, however, schools have taken a different approach.
When can you get the vaccine? Find out: Can you get a Covid-19 vaccine yet in New York state? There’s a new way to find out if you’re eligible. The state Department of Health has set up a website that will tell you if you can get the shot now or if you have to wait.

Cuomo: Test all travelers coming into U.S.: New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday called for the U.S. to mandate virus testing of all incoming international travelers in response to a new variant of Covid-19 first found in the United Kingdom.

Electoral College votes today; Pence in spotlight: Vice President Mike Pence finds himself in the most precarious position of his tenure as he prepares to preside over today’s congressional tally of Electoral College votes. Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday that Pence “has the power to reject fraudulently chosen electors.”
Public forums on police reform begin this week: Police departments in Onondaga County are joining together to host Zoom forums throughout January as part of New York’s police reform laws, signed into law last year. Central New Yorkers are invited to join any of the six forums, which are being held virtually due to Covid-19. The first one kicks off this Thursday.
