What makes these cars so expensive is a combination of rarity, beauty, and extreme power. These cars have all become memorable because they have that elegance and beauty that very few other models have ever achieved.

10 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing: $1,144,000

The 1957 generation of the 300SL Gullwing is quite expensive as in that year Mercedes decided to move the production to the roadster version of the car, effectively ending the era of one of the most iconic cars ever made. Only 73 examples have been made that year.

The car has been for a few years the fastest car in the entire world. It was powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine that produced 215 horsepower and could push the car to a top speed of 155 mph.

9 1993 Porsche 964 Turbo S 'Leichtbau:' $1,200,000

Leichtbau means lightweight as Porsche for this particular model shaved a lot of pounds to make the 964 faster and more agile. The 'common' version was quite heavy as it had to accommodate the all-wheel-drive system of the Carrera 4 with the rear-wheel-drive system of the Carrera 2.

Therefore, Porsche decided to drop at least 400 lbs. from the overall weight. The car became a true thunder as it was powered by a turbocharged flat-six cylinder that produced a fantastic 380 horsepower and could reach a top speed of 180 mph. Only 86 examples have been made of the lightweight 964.

This is another rare and iconic Porsche as only 55 examples were ever built. Stuttgart gave this version of the Carrera a 3.0-liter air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine that produced 230 horsepower that could push this beauty to a top speed of 155 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5 seconds.

This car was a street-version of an actual race car as Porsche said that the engine could be tuned and reach an output of over 330 horsepower. The RS 3.0 is truly an ageless beast.

7 2018 Mercedes-Maybach Landaulet G650: $1,800,000

This SUV was limited to only 99 examples. It was powered by a huge V12 built by AMG that produced an incredible 621 horsepower. The engine was so powerful that it could make this rather heavy SUV go from 0 to 62 mph in the space of 6 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 mph.

Mansory is known for customizing limos and supercars around the world to make them unique works of art. In this version of the SLR, carbon-fiber is the dominating element of the body.

Also, the beefy 5.5-liter V8 has been modified to have the output increased from 626 horsepower to 700 horsepower. This beast can reach a top speed of 211 mph and go from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds.

The car can also reach an incredible top speed of over 220 mph. It is the rarest Brabus ever built as only one example exists. It is believed that this car is owned by a billionaire from Abu Dhabi. The car has been seen in the streets of London only a handful of times.

This car is quite rare as there are only 20 road-homologated examples of the Porsche 911 GT1 that participated in the legendary 24 hours of Le Mans in 1997. The GT1 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.2-liter flat-six engine capable of producing 600 horsepower.

This magnificent engine could push the Porsche to a top speed of 191 mph and go from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.9 seconds. Although this car is called 911 it has nothing in common with that model and the majority of its parts were borrowed from 962, including the engine.

This one-off concept is the most expensive car ever made by Maybach. This car with a rather unique design and the memorable look was powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.9-liter V12 that produced a fantastic 690 horsepower and could push the car to a top speed of 218 mph.

Even though the Exelero was quite heavy at almost 6000 lbs., it was able to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4 seconds. Other than being blistering fast this car is absolutely beautiful to look at thanks to its amazing rear and front lines.
