Our top 10 baking recipes of the year - The Washington Post

How do you measure a year? (Yes, I was a high school chorus kid singing “Rent,” can you tell?) I look back at lots of things — primarily the wonderful memories I’ve made with my family. I think about the places we’ve gone and the people we’ve seen. I think about what I accomplished at work. And, of course, I think about what I’ve cooked and, especially, baked.

Looking back as a team is a fun exercise as well. Here we’ve collected our 10 most-read baking recipes of 2023, which include a mix of sweet and savory, simple and showstopping.

10. Almost Flourless Chocolate Cake

This rich yet light cake comes together easily. It uses just 1 tablespoon of flour, hence the name, but you can swap in cornstarch, a gluten-free flour blend or potato starch. Get the recipe.
