Walnuts and almonds are often treated as the default all-purpose nuts, but I turn to pecans the most. I fold them into my granola, grind them into my pesto, candy them for snacks and more. I love their maple-accented flavor and buttery undertones. I also appreciate how they are accessible and, all things considered, relatively affordable. (I’m all about the 3-pound bag at Costco!)
Like nuts in general, pecans can go sweet or savory. Here are some of our top recipes from our archives for desserts, salads, mains and more starring this versatile staple.
