It's an all-new flavor for Easter.
You didn't think Little Debbie would just let Easter roll by without honoring the holiday by way of a brand new snack, did you? In case you missed it, the famous snack company is giving its chocolatey Swiss cake rolls a spring-y upgrade.
Carrot Cake Rolls — as you may have guessed — are made with carrot cake and buttercream frosting, and topped off with a drizzle of white icing. The new cakes were recently reviewed by snack blogger, The Impulsive Buy, who says they taste more like a spice cake than they do carrot cake.
"Though carrots are nowhere on the ingredient label, there are real spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. (Aww, why don't they ever invite clove to the party?) These spices are welcome guests: these rolls do indeed taste like a spice cake," the blogger wrote.
Admittedly, chunks of carrot in a thin cake that's supposed to roll up would make it tricky to hold its shape, and carrot cake often tastes like spice cake if the spices are overwhelming. The Impulsive Buy does point out that — all things considered — it's as close to carrot cake as a packaged snack good can get.
Ultimately, you can be the judge and determine whether you agree with the review. Carrot Cake Rolls are now available at Walmart.
