Portillo's is offering 55-cent chocolate cake to celebrate its birthday

Get ready, north-siders. If you haven't been able to try Portillo's famous chocolate cake, this is your golden opportunity.

The Chicago restaurant celebrates its 55th birthday on April 4, but you don't have to bring it cake. In fact, it's bringing cake to you, for 55 cents a slice all day with the purchase of any sandwich (including hot dogs — which are sandwiches), entree salad, pasta or ribs.

You can only get this special in-store, though. It will not work with an online order. The Hamilton County Portillo's is located at 9201 E. 116th St.

It's a deal that comes out to roughly 13.05 calories per penny! Sorry, did that ruin it?
