Botched $200 birthday cake divides social media: 'In what trailer park was that bakery located?' - New York Post

This woman was feeling really crumby after picking up her granddaughter’s birthday cake.

TikTok user Khrissy Joe paid an unnamed baker $200 for the colorful creation, but was baked with fury when she laid eyes on the finished product.

The irate grandmother shared a not-so-sweet video of the lopsided fairy-themed cake to her page, where it garnered more than 5 million views.

“I spent well over $200 on this cake, and this is what I got,” she scoffed in the clip, posted on Nov. 7. “This is the worst cake I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Joe claimed the cake was not only an aesthetic eyesore, but further claimed to have found a string of hair in the icing.

“My granddaughter’s first birthday cake was a disaster. I was so upset, so let down,” she raged in her caption.

“This cake was supposed to be a representation of my granddaughter. She loves fairies and has loved them since she was 3 months old,” Joe sighed.

But viewers were fiercely divided over the cake complaint, with some saying the grandmother was irrationally angry. However, others agreed that she had every right to be enraged with the botched baked good.

Joe shared a video clip of her floppy cake and was upset over the result.

“Ask for a refund, one suggested. “If she [the baker] refuses, dispute the charge with your bank.”

“How did you pay and why did you accept it?” another person asked. “Omg !!! I would have snapped!”

“In what trailer park was that bakery located?” a third person sassily chimed in.

However, others believed Joe scored a bargain, even if the cake didn’t come out quite right.

“A four-tier cake being only $200 is insane to me… that would be at least double where I’m from,” a TikTok user said.

“For the cake you wanted, it would never cost only $200.,” a second said. “Probably $1500 or more.”

“I would have paid $500 for the cake, something to represent my granddaughter, just something that was hers,” Joe subsequently shared in an interview with Today. “We didn’t even eat it. It had hair in it.”

However, the grandmama later shared an update on TikTok, revealing that she was given a refund of $100, which appeared to appease her.
