A woman who paid more than $200 for a custom-made fairy-themed cake for her granddaughter's first birthday was left furious by the 'ugly' results.
Khrissy Joe, who is based in the US, requested a three-tiered fairy cake for her granddaughter Eve's upcoming party, and she made sure to provide a photo of what she wanted - but what she got was very different from what she asked for.
She took to TikTok to share some footage of the disastrous dessert, branding it as the 'worst cake she's ever seen in her life' - and it quickly went viral, gaining more than 5.1 million views and leaving many people on the web in hysterics.
The cake that Khrissy wanted had three levels - one that resembled a tree stump which doubled as a small fairy home, a second that was white and had fake moss on it, and a third that was made to look like a mushroom with a door and windows.
Around the cake there was a slew of intricate flowers and leaves created from fondant.
But what Khrissy received was nothing like what she had asked for. The bottom layer was brown and had globs of uneven icing around the sides.
The middle section was pink and lumpy, and had the word's 'Eves one' sketched sloppily across it in white icing.
And the final part contained what appeared to be the baker's attempt at making a mushroom - a blue base with a white top that had multiple cracks around it.
'This was supposed to be my granddaughter's first birthday cake. I spent well over $200 on this cake and this is what I got,' Khrissy said in the video. 'This is the worst cake I've ever seen in my life.
'When I told the woman that I was highly upset about it because it looks horrible, she said, "Well I will admit it was a lot harder than I thought it would be."'
The chef also sprinkled a slew of fake plants around it, rather than making them.
'These are fake plants, they're supposed to be [fondant],' Khrissy added. 'I'm so upset. Not to mention there was hair in the cake.'
Many people were just as horrified as Khrissy was over the ordeal, while others couldn't help but laugh.
'It looks like Play-Doh,' one person wrote in the comment section.
Someone else said, 'Holy moly. I’m a cake maker, if it’s too hard then you say I’m sorry that’s not something I’m comfortable doing and give another option or pass.'
Another viewer added, 'Did she use Crayola modeling clay?' while a different user asked, 'Is this real life?'
'That cake will always be memorable and talked about. Laughter will come in later years,' a fifth comment read.
Others pointed out that the cake Khrissy had asked for was likely worth well over $200.
'As a cake decorator: this is a $800 cake,' one said, while someone else fired back, 'Regardless of what the price should be, the baker gave her a price and said she could deliver.'
In an update, Khrissy said she was refunded $100 back from the bakery. She did not share where she got the cake from.
Earlier this month, a mom who goes by the username @BbbyGirl1s0s0 on TikTok went viral when she revealed that she had ordered a Minion birthday cake for her son from H-E-B - and was also unhappy with the outcome.
'Yo, I just picked up my son's Minion cake from H-E-B and this is the ugliest f**king thing I've ever seen,' the mom said in a video shared to TikTok, which has now been viewed more than 15 million times.
'This is so not what I asked for, and his party is tomorrow,' she said frantically. 'This is the ugliest f**king thing ever.'
The woman then showcased an image of a cake she had found on Google that she had provided with the baker.
The bottom half was blue while the top half was yellow, and it contained a face with fake goggles made out of icing.
'[The baker] asked me if I wanted it to be like ombre, and [gradually] go from blue to yellow, and I said, "No. Straight blue to straight yellow,"' she continued, adding that she also stressed that importance of the goggles.
The TikTok then cut to a clip of the cake that she got. Not only was there no goggles or mouth, the yellow and blue section overlapped, which left a bizarre green part smack dab in the middle.
'This is what I got. What the f**k is this? Why is it ombre? Why is it green? What happened to the goggle circles?' she continued. 'Oh my my f**king God. What the actual f**k is that?'
