It’s always reassuring to see a pandemic-launched business to open a permanent space in Los Angeles, and Flouring bakery is the latest to make that leap beginning Saturday, January 13. The Chinatown bakery comes from LA native chef Heather Wong, who will bake goods in a bistro-like setting with outdoor seating for six.
Wong launched Flouring in 2020 as a pop-up after stints at Bottega Louie, SweetSalt, and most recently as pastry chef at the shuttered Valley bakery Josephine. Her floral citrus shortbread cookies, brownies topped with meringue, s’mores bars, pavlovas, and plenty of cake are available a la carte or by the box with some stunning use of florals per slice. Flouring hours are Friday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
