Their king cakes are also not being delivered to resellers Monday. This sudden halt is due to a major production issue.
Many Facebook users shared their somber reactions, treating the devastating news as an obituary to king cake season and giving the James Beard award-winning bakery their condolences.
Dong Phuong king cakes will be sold again on Wednesday.
