SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) - A woman used a child to help her steal merchandise from a Target store in South Windsor, according to police.
South Windsor police arrested 33-year-old Raven S. Hardy of Hartford on Saturday and charged her with sixth-degree larceny, first-degree criminal trespass, and risk of injury to a child.
Police said they had an active arrest warrant for Hardy.
They said the incident happened in Nov. 2023 at the store on Buckland Hills Drive.
Hardy, whom they described as a “known shoplifter,” stole about $479 worth of items with the help of a child, they said. The child was between the ages of 8 and 10.
Police said because of her past crimes, she was trespassing at the store.
She was arrested the Southington Police Department and transferred to South Windsor police custody, where she was processed and released on a $25,000 surety bond.
Hardy was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on March 6.
