One of Mobile’s most-beloved viral sensations gets revisited every St. Patrick’s Day.
We are talking about the Crichton leprechaun, of course.
For the uninitiated, back in 2006, crowds gathered on Le Cren Street near UMS-Wright in Mobile, with many claiming they could see a leprechaun in a tree. Numerous reported of leprechaun sightings resulted in a local TV station to go to the scene for a report.

On Sunday, Kristen Saban, the daughter of former Alabama coach Nick Saban, took to social media to show she has embraced the legend of the Crichton leprechaun.
In the original report, a resident did an amateur sketch of the “Crichton Leprechaun,” displaying its oval head, round eyes and button nose on a piece of lined paper, which appears to be the focus of Kristen Saban’s cake.
