Jarred Gillett will have his every moved recorded by a "RefCam" during Monday night's game between Crystal Palace and Manchester United -- the first time it will be used in the Premier League.

Gillett will wear a head-mounted device which is integrated into the usual referee communications system.

It will provide the referee's point of view on how all decisions are made, and how the officials interact with players.

The video will not be broadcast live but will be used later in the year as part of a show which the Premier League hopes will offer "further insight and education into the demands of officiating in the Premier League."

The Bundesliga used a "RefCam" in one of its games this season between Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg to provide insights into the referee's perspective and the work of the VAR in a 26-minute documentary.

Before moving to English football, Gillett took on a similar responsibility five years ago during his final Australian A-League match between Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar, which received much praise.

His performance was recorded and key extracts of the way he managed the game and made decisions were later broadcast.
