These are the best used cars for teens under $20k, according to Consumer Reports - WVLT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It can be a difficult decision for parents having to choose an affordable used car for their new teen driver, which is why Consumer Reports and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has analyzed which used cars are the safest and most affordable.

The report details the following cars as good used cars for teens, all of which have a Good or Acceptable rating in the IIHS driver-side small-overlap test, and their respective starting prices:

    • Ford C-Max Hybrid (2015-16): $7,100

The cars listed above were selected because they meet stringent safety and reliability criteria in addition to being below $20,000. The starting price listed is the least-expensive version in the range of years with typical mileage and in good condition.
