This Was Glenviews Most Expensive Home Sale Of 2019 - Glenview, IL Patch

GLENVIEW, IL — More than 500 homes were sold in Glenview last year for nearly $336 million, as the median sales price remained essentially flat for the fourth consecutive year.

According to data provided by the North Shore Barrington Association of Realtors, the median sale price of a single-family home in Glenview in 2019 was $550,000 — the same as the prior year, and identical to 2015's median sales price.

Home on the market in Glenview last year were listed for an average 128 days before selling, up from 109 in each of the previous two years, according to the local realtors.

The village's most expensive residential home sale of 2019 was $2,625,000 purchase of a newly built 11,100-square-foot house on Longvalley Road.

The seven-bedroom Nantucket-style house was completed last year on a two thirds of an acre parcel that had been purchased in 2017 for just over $700,000.

Median home sales in Glenview have been mostly rising since 2011, when just 310 homes were sold with a median price of less than $450,00, according to data provided by the North Shore Barrington Association of Realtors. That year, 132 fewer homes sold for median sales prices that were nearly 30 percent lower than 2019 closing prices.

In December 2019, the median list price of homes for sale in Glenview was $495,000, just 1 percent lower than a year earlier. The median sales last month was $390,000, more than 18 percent below the same month in 2018, according to data from Realtor.com, which considers Glenview to be a balanced market.
