The tried-and-true heat and cocoa duo flaunt their stuff in the chile chocolate cake ($8). It’s adorned with coconut and cocoa nibs and sits on a drizzle of avocado lime, which adds a touch of smoky zing.

Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar

It’s what happens when a slice of chocolate cake really wants to be a candy bar. The Peruvian chocolate crunch cake ($13) is elevated with luxurious Illanka chocolate-whipped ganache and a hazelnut crunch base. Raspberry sorbet joins it on the side.

Super Chunk Sweets and Treats

A perennial crowd-pleaser, the individual Blackout Cake ($5.50) is a chocoholic’s dream as black cocoa cake is layered with chocolate ganache and embellished with black cocoa cookie crumbs. For a party, bring a larger version ($37-$74) that’s layered with black cocoa buttercream. Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance.

Sweet, salty and super creamy, the chocolate fleur de sel caramel mousse cake is comprised of three layers of chocolate cake filled with homemade fleur de sel caramel sauce and chocolate mousse. The entire cake is then finished in mousse and ganache ($8 for a cake that serves one or two, $55 for one that serves 24-36).

J&G Steakhouse

The iconic warm chocolate cake ($10) oozes a luscious warm chocolate filling, while a scoop of caramel ice cream makes for frosty supporting cast.

Roaring Fork

The ancho chocolate torte ($8) gets an additional kick with cinnamon. Whipped cream and fresh strawberries temper the subtle heat.

The show-stopping salted caramel pretzel chocolate cake ($12) tantalizes with a sweet-and-salty combo and a milk chocolate caramel filling. The crunch comes from bits of the famous house pretzel.
