Chef Donlon and his Anniversary Jubilee Cake.

The Elder Scrolls Online is celebrating its fourth birthday with a party that lasts for more than a week, and there’s presents for you if you join the festivities.

To get started, complete the "Ache for Cake" quest given by Chef Donlon. He can be found in Vulkhel Guard, Daggerfall or Davon’s Watch. Don’t worry if you don’t know, or can’t remember, where these places are. The Jubilee Cake Voucher has directions to where the Chef can be found, and you can pick the Voucher up for free from the in-game Crown Store.

Completing the quest rewards you with an Anniversary Jubilee Cake memento. Activate the cake and then use it to get a two-hour 100% experience buff that stacks with any other experience buff that's active. You can use the cake as many times as you like to renew the experience buff until the party ends.

Completing daily and weekly quests during the birthday event awards Anniversary Gift Boxes in addition to their regular rewards. The boxes contain a selection of crafting materials along with a single rare crafting item such as a motif page. Some boxes contain rarer items that can only be found in unique locations like the Horns of the Reach Dungeon or the Clockwork City. There’s also a motif page for the Worm Cult Style which is only found in the Anniversary Gift Boxes. The Worm Cult Style motif is very rare so hold on to it if you get one.

Finding out about the dailies and weeklies is now easier with a new book called the Adventurer’s Almanac, 2nd Edition. The Almanac tells you what today’s and this week’s quests are, where they are, what they require and their recommended level. The book can be found near Chef Donlon, and if you’ve completed the Mages Guild quest line, it will be accessible from your Journal at any time.

Eating a piece of cake that doubles your experience makes ESO’s birthday bash a great time to start a new character or make some headway if leveling has turned into a soulless grind. It’s also a good time to get started if you haven’t played ESO.
