A birthday cake shaped like the Mustang logo is no match for a passing Camaro in this video.
Ford used the occasion of National Mustang Day on April 17 — the car's 54th birthday — to announce that starting in February, Mustangs will replace the Fusion in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. It is the first time, Ford says, a Mustang has ever competed in stock car racing's top league.
Meanwhile, Chevrolet took note of the birthday by releasing a video that has fun with the decades-long rivalry between the Mustang and the Camaro, which recently got a midcycle refreshing and more power. In the video, a Camaro roars past a man standing along a stretch of highway holding a birthday cake, blowing out the candles in the process. The short video, made in Dubai by Chevrolet Arabia, signs off with the message "Happy Birthday Little Pony."
